Nuance is not a Vice

One more thing: Given the invective being thrown around by conservatives regarding Farenheit 9/11 and by liberals concerning President Bush in general, I'm led to ask a simple question.

When did it become taboo for the other side to have a valid point?
Comments:
Pick an answer.

A) When valid points were contrary to the interests of the party.

B) When valid points don't present "both sides of the story".

C) When admitting someone has a valid point gets you labeled as a waffler.

It's way too easy to attack someone's character over ANY percieved inconsistancy, which is why most valid points come from people with nothing to lose, or a constituency that's so solidly behind the person as to render any attempts at discrediting their character futile.

My question in response to yours, is, when did it become taboo to MAKE a valid point?

My guess is the answer lies somewhere in the realm of why arguments nowadays consist more and more of rhetoric, and less of actual substance or logical and factual basis.

Right. I should sleep.
